Triple Cap Cigars

Ever hear of a triple capped cigar, but never quite understood what it is exactly?  Fear not, we've got your back.

A triple cap refers to the style at the head of a cigar (where you make a cut).  A cap is the piece of tobacco that rests over the head.  Traditionally, Cubans would put three caps on their cigars as a mark of quality and craftsmanship, as seen in the seams in the photo above.  Some say it helps hold the wrapper together better, it is more likely an aesthetic feature,as it does look impressive.  Although other countries have been using for years now, it still is a fun tidbit to point out and impress your friends with.

Next time you light up a Tatuaje, DavidoffLa Flor Dominicana, or Ashton, keep an eye out for that Triple Cap.
